2. Who, When & How Long

● Built for Pharaoh Khufu of Egypt’s 4th Dynasty, reflecting royal power and religious beliefs about the afterlife.

● Construction period: roughly 20–27 years, aligning ancient accounts with modern archaeological analysis.

● Workforce: about 20,000–25,000 skilled laborers supported by seasonal farmers during Nile floods—clear evidence they were paid workers, not slaves.

● Worker life: housed in a nearby planned city with bakeries, medical care, and a protein-rich diet consuming roughly 11 tons of meat daily.

3. How They Actually Built It (Latest Evidence 2025)

● Stone sources: fine limestone shipped from Tura across the Nile, while heavy red granite was transported from Aswan nearly 900 km away by river.

● Ramp systems: evidence supports a hybrid design—large external ramps for lower levels and an internal spiraling ramp still embedded inside the pyramid.

● Transport method: wetting sand in front of sledges reduced friction by about 50%, making it possible to move multi-ton blocks efficiently.

● Heavy lifting: the Grand Gallery likely worked as a counterweight system, allowing precise raising of 60-ton granite blocks into the King’s Chamber.

4. Inside the Great Pyramid

● King’s Chamber: built entirely of red granite and protected by five relieving chambers that safely redirect immense weight; the room has notable acoustic resonance.

● Queen’s Chamber: never used for burial, possibly intended for a statue, ritual space, or symbolic astronomical purpose.

● Subterranean Chamber: carved deep underground and left unfinished, with its true purpose still unknown.
